The Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce was awarded the highest-level certificate — the “5-Star Competence in Excellence Certificate” — following an independent evaluation.

Having been the first and only Chamber of Commerce to certify the excellence of its service quality with 4 stars at the 24th Quality Congress in 2015, Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce has elevated its excellence level to 5 stars in 2019 at the 28th Quality Congress, where the “Türkiye Excellence Awards” were presented.

At the ceremony, GCC was recognized with the prestigious “5-Star Competence in Excellence Certificate,” awarded based on the criteria of the EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) Excellence Model — a management framework adopted by more than 30,000 organizations worldwide.

With this recognition, GCC had become the first and only Chamber of Commerce in Türkiye to receive the 5-star certificate.

What Is the EFQM Excellence Model?

The EFQM Excellence Model is a management framework developed by the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) in collaboration with industry and academic experts and introduced globally in 1991. Adopted by more than 30,000 organizations in 38 countries through 47 national partners, the model is a corporate assessment tool applicable to organizations of all sizes and sectors.

In Türkiye, organizations adopting the model are evaluated based on EFQM criteria by assessors authorized by KalDer, the national partner of EFQM. They are assessed across nine main criteria:

• People Results
• Society Results
• Key Performance Results

Based on their achievements, organizations may receive the 2-Star, 3-Star, 4-Star, or 5-Star Competence in Excellence Certificate.
