SUPPORTING FAIR TRADE COOPERATIVES
According to the data derived from UNCHR, Turkey hosts 3,660,449 SuTPs and 449.945 of this population currently is in Gaziantep which equals to %21.4 of the whole city population. Direct beneficiaries will be the women who are SuTP together with Turkish women who wants to engage themselves to the economic life by producing local products. The minimum age is 18, however there is no max age requirement for the potential cooperative members.
Women who have strong leadership and entrepreneurial skills with a drive to commit to their work and have high moral value will be accepted to the programme. The participants are also expected to have strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce as an important actor for the socio-economic development of both the city and the region will be the beneficiary institution by being responsible of the overall coordination of this very specific project.
Project has three objectives;
Gathering Syrian and Turkish women living in Gaziantep together for a better social integration and economic integration by giving them career opportunities and thus increasing the employment rate in the province and the region.
Providing a national and international market network for the local products of Gaziantep by branding and selling them with a cooperative to be established by women.
Increasing women's employment and to empower women through promoting and supporting women's cooperatives.
